The General Osteopathic Council requires osteopaths to keep comprehensive, accurate and timely clinical records. Here is how SCRPT Notes helps you meet those standards — and where your clinical responsibility remains.

Important: SCRPT Notes is a clinical documentation assistant. The AI drafts the note — you review, edit and approve everything before it is saved. All clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment decisions remain with you as the registered practitioner.

What the clinician must still do

Review the draft — Read the AI-generated note and verify it accurately reflects what happened in the consultation. Correct any errors.
Confirm red flags — Manually confirm each red flag prompt. The AI highlights — you document your clinical reasoning and management.
Approve before saving — The note is not sent to Cliniko until you click Approve. You are always the final gatekeeper.
Obtain patient consent — You are responsible for informing the patient about consultation recording and obtaining their consent before pressing Record.
Apply clinical judgement — All clinical assessment, working diagnosis and treatment decisions are yours. The AI provides a documentation framework, not clinical advice.
Maintain GOsC registration obligations — Use of SCRPT Notes does not affect your individual obligations as a GOsC-registered osteopath. You remain responsible for your records.

GCC (chiropractors)

SCRPT Notes uses the same SOAP structure required by the General Chiropractic Council. The same record fields — subjective, objective, assessment, plan, consent — map directly to GCC clinical record standards. GCC-registered chiropractors use the tool in the same way as osteopaths.
